Hello lovers.
Blogging seems to be the trendy thing us kiddos do in our spare/misused time, I'm making one. Also, I only have an hour lunch break and can't enjoy my sushi and call everyone to let them know how I'm doing. And I don't play favorites with my calls...
Newest Revelations from D.C.:
- Southerners make me really uncomfortable.
- Serious Christians make me really uncomfortable.
- My impractical work shoes make me uncomfortable, but in a good way.
- I love keeping up with being vegan. I feel so healthy and much stronger.
- I love trash-talking and man-bonding.
- Big butts and booties aren't the same thing.
SO yeah. Um, my weekend:
Espresso Version:
- party
- cake/ free brownie (boo being vegan)
- sunburn
- awkward burnlines
- soccer
- working out a lot
- friends
- boys
- laugher
- many, many games of pong
Venti Version:
Friday I woke up early to stretch and go to my first spinning class, which was glorious and a great workout. I then wanted to go for a walk, so I decided to find (what I thought was) the nearest Whole Foods and antique market area. Um, "near" was about 3 miles each way, according to Mapquest, but it was a great time anyway. I love just walking around. Whole grain sushi is amazing. I spent the evening bumming around with my roommates dancing like weirdos and doing homework. Oh yeah, and I took some cute/semi-artistic pictures of Gtown and Arlington. I'll post later maybe...I didn't work on my sketch, which is bad. I need to get on that before the creative urges are wrung out of me by working for The Man.
Saturday night was the beginning of my roommate Adair's birthday festivities, which started with pre-going out fun and a nice dinner at Tombs. We're all so ridiculous and wonderful, I love it.
We then headed to another apartment for a party, where Soulja Boy-ing, a 2-person dance floor, pong and awkwardness ensued. It was a great time overall.
Sunday consisted of going to a DC United (soccer) game, which I had no plans of doing. When someone invites you somewhere the next day when they're drunk at a party the night before, I tend not to take it seriously. Whatevs, it was great barring the INCREDIBLY PAINFUL SUNBURN now searing my skin underneath my blazer. Ow.
At some point I realized I was screaming Spanish profanity at the San Jose team (I was sitting with this fan group thing...a great time), and that I had a burnline from bending my arms to clap. Ow again.
After I met up with Lillian in her adorable Capitol Hill apartment for dinner and then worked out (circuit training= my new obsession) and did homework.
Now I'm at work, researching for a few pieces (finally a long feature, woo!) Sadly, I have some uberconservative press event to go to Thursday, ick. I'll hold my tongue.
Timewaster of the Day: www.sorryimissedyourparty.com. It's so epic, it hurts.
